Washingtonian, We Need to Talk

I love Washingtonian’s Top 100. I also think it occasionally loses its mind.

A fabulous $20 neighborhood restaurant and a $300 tasting menu are not competing in the same sport, and Annapolis is not Washington no matter how good dinner is. Then Masseria disappears entirely while Lucky Danger lands at #21. I like Lucky Danger enough to order it to my house. It is not the 21st best restaurant in DC.

So I’m separating Fine Dining, Neighborhood Gems, and Casual Cravings, and moving the road trips where they belong.

I still love Washingtonian. I just don’t trust it unsupervised.
